Story: They claim it to be the story of today’s generation and how they handle “love” and “relationships”. One thing that was missing in the movie that could have made it a hit was a good story. The subject is good and catchy and am sure will make the so called “Aaj Kal” folks drive to the theaters but they might be dissapointed with the story not being very “impactful”. It was more like a moral class lesson than a movie with Rishi Kapoor being the teacher .

Cast:

Saif Ali Khan : For some reason he was not himself in the movie. That fun and attitude he shows was not to be seen in this movie. I miss the saif in Hum Tum. That was an amazing flick. I kind of liked him as the Rishi Kapoor’s younger version than Jai.                I felt like he was doing charity acting, may be being a co-producer gets on your head

Deepika Padukone: Acts the same. Its the same expression and we know how exactly how she will react and is very bad at crying. and dressing omg not very impressive I must say. May be she was trying to claim the “this” generation look but failed very badly at it. Very average acting but she manages to look hot so the guys will enjoy.

Rishi Kapoor: Good one. He did not have much to do other than teaching(please read intruding) Saif about love and relationships and his own life, pavam he did not even get to act in his own flashback

There is nothing else to talk about this movie. You can watch it once. For some nice locations, average music, bad dancing(you will still enjoy), very little but very saif style comedy(like KHNH, Salam Namasthe) and some predictable story.

I rate it 2/5.

A 45 min movie. I didn’t know that it was sucha a short one, but nevertheless a good one

It talks about this 11 yr old kid who starts his journey to meditate in Himalayas and find a purpose of his life.

I do not have anything to say about the story, direction and narration, it was a documentary and had its elements to keep you occupied.

But yes, you have to watch it on the IMAX screen to enjoy it. The experience is completely different and it was very beautiful . 

The colors, the culture, the lights and the beauty of India was shown very well. Go with no expectations, you will enjoy it  

Arey Mama masthuga unnaadhe po eee Cinemaa…

Billa, a 3rd remake of DON – 1st SRK DON, 2nd Tamil Billa and now Telugu Billa.

I heard from sources that Tamil Billa was supa dupa good and Ajit was deadly in that movie.

I got a call at 5pm from a friend who came back from Muscat and just want to go to a movie, even tho he already watched the movie the previous day he was  still ok with this movie and moreover this was the only one which had tickets so yes we considered gathtering up a few more and then headed to Imax!

Story : Yes, a remake of DON. First half a lil boring, unless you will enjoy Krishnam Raju and his acting. If you are someone for whom humor has to be direct humor then No you won’t enjoy it.  But, the second half was more fun, it will keep you occupied and yes he gave a different ending to it, I heard this is same as the Tamil Billa, but I found it very refreshing and I was on the edge of ma seat to see how he will end it . I cannot believe that the same story has 3 different endings now . Anyways, story is good enough.

Direction:  Considering that the story is more of less familiar, the move was directed pretty well to keep the audiences occupied, like I mentioned it was a little boring in the first half, the second half it was ok stuff. There are things in the movie that will keep you occupied, like Krishnam Raju, Namita and ohh yess Prabhas  

Namita: The reason am mentioning her before any of the other important characters is that I want to finish it off first and then I can write about the good things in the movie. OMG she was all over the screen. Even if you wan t to ignore her and then look somewhere else you cannot.  Well the guys totally loved her for all the reasons you know, but I just could not it was hurting my eyes. Phew !!!! 

Krishnam Raju : OMG, he is the one of the biggest reason why I liked the movie. He is a legendry Telugu actor and yes he did amazing MASS movies but this one he was trying to be the sharpest officer in Malaysia. He has this style, omg and class and his suits and his dialogues, you can see him put a lof of effort in everything he was trying to say or do. I wish he had thought this through before he did this character. A little sorry I feel for him , but ohhh i had sucha good laf.. and yes am gonna watch it again . I recommend this movie and yes you will have hellofa good time trust me  

Namita: She was hot. After doing a flick like “Arundati”, she did a completely different role, and yes she showed a lot of herself and yes the guys totally loved it. 

Hansika: Cannot act, no elegance at all when she dances and her nail polish looks very bitchy in the movie.

Prabhas: Well. he was OMG good looking in the movie. Its tough to impress me with a moustache, but this one is the only one who made it. He was so damn elegant, classy and stunning. He was able to get the Class and the Mass look in the movie and was amazing. His dressing should get a special mention, he chose the right colors – black and white and was tall enough to look hot. He was alil bad at places where he had to speak in English, but I will not blame him, may be he should have stuck to Telugu or atleast practiced to get a neutral ascent, he has this MTI. One other reason why I want to watch the movie again. 

Prakash Raj : He does and over does it perfectly as a father. Am sure everyone in the industry want him as her or his father. Perfect guy for the role and I sure liked and enjoyed his acting, I could totally understand the parts of the movie where he is silent and trying to understand his daughter, this was really done well by Prakash Raj and anyone else could have messed up  

Rest of the Star Cast :  This time I won’t point out and talk at any other specific character, not because they did not do well, just that they did their part fair enough and do not need any special mention than that The story more revolves around Prakash Raj and so he got a mention. And ya .. I felt jagapathi babu was just a lil bit refreshing…. but am still not sure if he was needed in that role… 

Story : Yesa different one from what we have been watching so far, and yes definitely carries a nice message out. But I’am a little disappointed with the way it was handled. The concept is right, but to bring in the change there has to be something that hits the audience strongly and they have to feel it when they walk out for it to work.. which did not happen in the movie. I did not like the fact that Shirya was shown a little cold to her father’s love. She admires this Punjabi guy and talks about how great he is but was never shown acknowledging how much her father loves her, may be coz the message was about how parents centric, but I’d still want to see her do that. They show that the father accepts the son-in-;aw only coz he is this great guy.. lets think practically as a common man will you find such ppl for your daughters or will they find such ppl all the time ? The concept was driven more on how good the guy was and that his daughter’s decision was right. I’d say the movie would have been more realistic if they would have shown that guy is good enough to take care of her daughter. Well, yes the message was good in terms of register marriage., adopting families, kids but ideally am saying understanding relationships and accepting the decisions from your daughter have to happen without the strongest reasons like this also. It just has to be your love for them and nothing more.

Am not very happy with it, but ya mom and dad likes it . so its ok  

I have heard these 4 songs least 20 times each today and just fell in love with the music and also lyrics.. some lines that will just make you fall in love with it too ..

Delhi – 6 Was an accident. Wait.. not the movie, but our seeing it was definitely one. Sunday morning I woke up with ma phone ringing at as early as 9:30 am( ya it is for someone who has to wake up by 6:30 everyday) n e ways….we headed to Imax to watch “koncham Istam Koncham Kastam” as Mallik was suppaaa excited about coming back to India from Sing-a-pore but it was a Sunday so obviously we didn’t manage to get the tix. so we headed to “saptagiri” after a lot of drama. It’s so much fun to watch movie in these small theaters. Oh wait you’ve come to read the review… alrite hear it goes…

Title: It is one of those titles where it has got nothing to do with the story line but just that it happened on that day or in that place and can happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere. Like “A Wednesday”. But there was something to it. I saw a poster which actually said “Dilli -6″. I even heard Abhi telling out in a press release that it is “dilli” and not “delhi” I wonder what is the differene but I like it as “Dilli” than “Delhi”. Check the picture below you will know what I mean.

Story line: A thought provoking story line and will make you think. Its the same old sensitive “ramalayam” -”Babri Masjid” issue, but the way it was shown will make you think rather than create ore controversies. I’d still say there won’t be any change in the way people think. Its like built into their system. If you planning to bring in the change then go teach the younger generation that GOD is one and religion is just a system that we build for ourselves for a way to communicate to GOD. I wonder if I will see this change at all !!

Movie: I felt that there were some parts, specially towards the ending after Abhi was shot, which can be done without. I still don’t think Amitabh Bachan was needed in the movie other than to just cheer his son. There were a lot of people who told me that the movie was a lil boring before I watched it and I felt the reason was that these scenes a lil unrealistic. When you are trying to make a movie which is on sucha sensitive topic and you want it to do some good to the people around, I’d say stick to keep it realistic. Remember “Mumbai” which actually did impact a lil bit here and there.

Abhishek: After “Dhrona” and “Dostana” , it was a refreshing performance. Altho I felt he couldn’t do a very NRIsh performance he looked more like apna Desi boy than pardesi. Did just about what was needed and thankfully there was no over acting . Oh and he did a fair enough advertising of his “motorola” phone and his dance moves were really (moto)rocking

Sonam: I feel sorry for her that she has to get away with another normal performance. I felt her role was little and anyone could have done the same. But yes she is pretty and will definitely make all the guys go…” I want a gf like that” (this is for Yashu). About her acting, yes this girl can act but didn’t see anything new from her previous performance in “Saawariya”. I want to see this girl take up better performance oriented roles and lets see how will she do it.

Music: A.R Rehman….Well don’t have anywords My fav was Rehna tu… even the rest are very moving…You can feel the music and makes u feel that you are a part of the movie. It was only the music that mad me feel that I was a prt of the movie.. This guy truly deserves the Oscar Award First Indian to be there on that stage !!! .. Wooooooo Rehman rawks

White Pigeon/Sparrow/Dove(watever it was ): It was super cute and had an entire song dedicated to it Matak kali matak kali

Bacha Party: The kids did a good job, and added a little bit of fun element to the movie.

Wahida Rehman, Rish kapoor n the rest: Typically Indian or Delhi I’d say, It was nice to see them and won’t get bored

Last but not the least the Kaala Bandhar: There is ths kaala bandhar that everyone is scared of and actually becomes the hero by getting on to the Tshirts, kites n masks etc. This is later used as a symbolic impression of the “bad” within each of us and will make you think.

To all the folks who came by ..was a fun watch lets finish that “Koncham Istam Koncham Kastam” also.

Been a while I watched this flick .. but dint wanted to miss the chance to talk about this one.. 

To start off about this movie, a friend works for this production house so there was a lot of hype and enthusiasm to watch this movie and all the gaga going around the city about the movie, I wasn’t hesitant to watch even if it was a second show and at “konark” 

I will not crib about all the drama that happened before we stepped into konark, lets just say we got there in time ..and I missed a few mins of the beginning but my dear friend.. Ravi Kandala (url Chanti Abbaye on www.123telugu.com) was kind enuf to update me with what happened.. 

And then the movie started……I liked the shady graphics which looked a lil spooky I was hoping and preparing myself that I might get a lil scared but then it just got funny over the course of time.. 

So, like all my reviews.. You will see only a performance check not really a story ka review.. so here it goes.. 

Anushka : She was osm in some of the scenes.. but she killed it by overacting at some places..  She confuses me a lot.. Sometimes she looks really good and sometimes she makes me think if she is the same woman who was good 2 min back….I was glad I heard the same comment form someone else who came along…phew !! but overall good performance.. I think she got her role mainly coz of her eyes and they made the best use of it .. if only she could have carried that sensible acting in all scenes…but am sure she is gonna bag the best actress and the nandi awards for this movie.. coz that’s how it works in Tollywood !!! 

Sonu Sood : I loved this guy in “Jodha Akbar” phew he was breathtaking I felt…and this one too .. he looks hot and also on performance level.. woah!!! he was excellent….He made me hate him so much in spite of all my liking for him… I felt he lived his role and was all evil as possible.. I was a lil freaked out figuring out that his nails were longer than mine.. but considering his evil intentions I forgive him for that !!! We have a winner here… hands down.. real good actor. 

Side characters: Were created just to be killed. I dint really feel they were any important rather just to be killed or so that it will be easy for the bad guy to blackmail the good lady. A lot of talented, reputed and experienced actors were wasted for these roles… I say thy would have given a chance to someone new to show/prove their performance… these folks we know are good at what they do.. nothing new for them tho ..A lil disappointed to see this..

Visual effects : The inside news is .. there were around 19 visual graphic experts who spent more than 18 to 20 hours to get a graphic done for one second of the movie. Thats how much effort they put in ? hard to believe after I watched the movie… but I felt graphics weren’t up to the mark.. they could have been much better…. I have seen better graphics in black and white movies !!! gimme a brk !!.. well I have to agree that I liked the shady looks of that palace..but nothing more to it . I got counter arguments that this wasn’t made in so called “Hollywood”  so stop setting high expectations…but hello? least graphics should cheat the naked eye and make u feel like a reality ? isn’t it ? was really bad specially where arundati was a kid and she is talking .. 

Editing : Well, a special note had to be made about editing , or rather dubbing and matching it with the scenes… that comes into the editing part right ? if not am sorry to blame u guys… but there was no lip sync in the first half?? was everyone blind? When the arundati(in her teens) is giving orders or was overacting I must say there is no lip sync at all.. I mean I felt like I was watching one of those tam/mal movies dubbed into telugu .. Please… can we set some standards? Errr I mean high standards.. !!! 

I think thats all I have from the movie… Not a gr8 watch.. I’d say you have to go with less expectations out of the movie.. may be then .. u’d like it !!! 

Coming next is slumdog millionaire.. a lil late than all the other guys out there.. but watever!!!

Well, Samjho you got bored with the regular drama happening in the movies…and you really want to go to a movie and watch some fun, not relate urself to it and laugh like mad !!! well not only laugh but clap, scream , whistle (damn i need to learn how to yaar !!! ) then “Dostana” is the movie you should go for ..

John : He was Suppaaa hot…..no kidding.. and am not surprised one entire song is dedicated for him..and when the song was ova I was wondering how did the movie start without titles ..well ahem ahem…it was the tile song with Shilaa Shetty…don’t worry..even the guys who came along also had the same problem…they were too busy drooling ova Shipla that they dnt realise it too

Abhishek : Someone actually pointed out that he never exposes…well watever reasons he has for it..I really don’t want to know…but acting..ohh hell yaa..he has a superb role in this movie..altho I was surprised he dared enuf to share the screen with the “hot” John!!! but yaaa he has his mark on the movie too!! I reallyyy love the part where he explains how John and Abhishek fell in love in Venice…Thats my fav part of the movie !!!

Priyanka : Well she’s hitting the top seat with so many good movies and so many good roles….With her i feel her acting is same all the time..doesn’t change..similar roles…I don’t know why tho..but looks..well she looks a lot better than in fashion…I wonder how come…and definitely dressed betta than in fashion…good for her…and yaa another hottie you guys wouldn’t want to miss

Kiron : Suited perfect for the role…the melodramatic mother…I loved her in Om Shanti Om !!! No one else could have done that better than her…good job!!

Bobby Deol : Looked good in his intro scene and that’s the end for him on terms of looks…well acting..yaa he can…but his score was low coz of a school boy hairstyle…I think they were trying to show him as a 40 yr old father with a 5 yr old kid… but you dint have to9 do a lot….he already looks 40!!! (isnt he too??) the extra effort just made him look more dumb…watch out ..for the killer striped pants he wears for priyanka it rawks..if u kn what I mean

Priyanka’s aunt : Uff.. was tough to tolerate on screen…

Boman Irani : His talent was wasted..they could have used him a little more to kick in some more comedy

Me Ova and out !!! gotto get home and get some sleep…I hate winters for this…:(

the main characters

the crow: all it does is sits on the tree and enjoys the attention it gets from the kid in the house. I’m sure it must be thinking.. “wow that girl is checking me out may be I should try in Hollywood or something”  duhh!! we dint come to the movie to watch a crow ! should try something else to scare people. I heard there are some places where they eat crows…I just hope they wont watch this movie else they would want to hunt this one down for sure….. its one big FAT crow !

the lady with ugly kajal(Ashwini Kalsekar…… Madhu) and her (fat) husband(Kenny Desai…… Anshuman) : If there is anyone who looks scary in the movie its her…..she looked so scarry when she was crying out loud ! .. i actually came to knw what crying out loud is ! ….its nothing like you think ….its screaming bloddy into your ears !…..she has nails so damn huge! …even me (who has some 80+ shades of naipolish found them ugly) found them ugly! .. and the husband dint have a role at all other than smiling at everything his wife says, getting hit by the man of the house and crying out when his wife is dead in the end!…I think they could have used Ashwini in a better non sobbing role….i hated ramu for making her cry .. she would have done a great job being anguish than to scream her lungs out…

the husband(Sudeep…… Rajiv) : the character lacks logic and not ready to listen to anyone type of a person ! .. Looks good and acts good too… specially the emotional scenes…

the wife(Amruta Khanvilkar…… Arati) : She did a good job and is pretty too… Has done a decent job.

grand mother (Jyothi Subhash…… who looks scary too ) : Like all grandmothers have something to prove that they are old.. this one has a disease where she nods her head all the time… more than anything it only irritated me and was trying to look away when she was on screen….I think she did an ok job at acting..but the character could be used to scare the audience in a better way….(like all the other characters)

the son (Shrey Bawa…… Rohan) : Had no role at all .. He is there just to open and close his eyes and try to make us feel dat he has something to do with what’s going around end of story.. and dat too in one scene for like 10 min .. Cant blame the kid.. parents cant afford to say NO to a role in ramus film.. u get popular any which way !!!

The maid : (Anu Ansari…… Laxmi) : She dint do anything but getting scared to things around her…

The Driver (Shankar Sachdev…… Shyam ) : The insider who is actually an outsider…

The Male Doc (K K Raina…… Dr. Pandey) :This guy is one whom ramu has scared the most with his movie….this guy is so damn scared that you cant stop but watching his expressions even if he is in the background somewhere..

The female Doc (Madhuri Purandare…… Dr. Seema Walke) :Over does everything… thinking, drinking water,treatment baahhh..nother waste of talent..

The Tantrik (Zakir Hussain…… Murtaza Kapasi) : One of ma fav charecters in a horror movie.. the one to the resue…Not sure why they had to show him as a handicapped person.. could have done a decent job by being normal too.. but ..well.. just adds to the list of things we keep wondering about the movie…..I like his act where he tries to smell the evil spirit through the sharp objects in between his fingers… something thats catching up and you want to try once you are out

Teacher : (Geetanjali) Funny…. and gets the shock of her life frm the girl..(who is yet to be covered)

The girl who is hit by the evil spirit (Ahsaas Channa…… Raksha) : The one and only one person who actually benefited from the movie has done a great job .. then its her .. She has done some amazing acting to her age and actually makes u believe that its not her but someone who has taken over her who is making her talk/behave like that … Even though not a lot.. but her acting in the scenes where she is hit by spirit is reallyy worth watching.. she is one person for whom you can go to the theater and watch the movie…Kudos!! Thanks to Ramu .

The scary part of the movie.. : Now wait.. this is a horror movie.. so shouldn’t the scary part be a part of it.. why am i mentioning it exclusively… well my dear!!.. sadly.. after Raat and Bhoot I had high expectations from this movie on lines of horror but .. tuff luck !!! … I will not say that the movie was not scary.. there are some scenes which will give u the jerk but they are either dreams/imaginations or something that doesn’t make any sense and you end up laughing at it ….If only they were true and then you would actually get scared by the end of movie …

the end :On lines of concept the only thing I really liked is dat he leaves it to our hands to take a call if it was black magic indeed or emotional disturbance that has hit the girl… It reminded me of the movie “Davinci Code” ..
