Happy Women’s Day

Refreing to me previous post on Women’s day in 2007… following is the  post I really liked this and made a lot of sense then and makes a lot of sense now too  

Saluting every Women …..

The meaning of a women is love and dedication
be it as a mother , a sister , a friend , a lover or a wife
the universe is so incomplete without her 

inspite of the treatment she gets , she still holds her loved ones
just supporting you and your needs everytime
in the pains and in gains ….

I want you to think …. of how this cruel world has always behaved with women
She is still a ONLY a “house bird” , “kitchen stock” and a “Patner in BED” to many

Think about what she does for you ,
Think about how much she cares ,
Think about every minute she made you feel tha you are the BEST
Think about how you treat her …

Respect Women , for no matter how much a MAN you are , there cannot be anything that can even come close to being as TOUGH as a WOMEN ..

Nothing really changed from 2007 – 2009..No wait things did change.. theyt got worst. The abuse over women made me Hate Men. A lot of them assured me that things will be ok and that a day will come when Women will get the right treatement.  I’m looking forward for every MAN on this universe to treat the Woman(kind) kindly.

Join the Pink Chaddi campaign ..

What is the Pink Chaddi Campaign?

The Pink Chaddi Campaign kicked off on 5 February 2009 to oppose the Sri Ram Sena. The campaign is growing exponentially (1,300 at this point in the life of our Consortium of Pub-going, Loose and Forward Women) and that is not surprising. Most women in this country have enough curbs on their lives without a whole new franchise cashing in with their bully-boy tactics. Of course, a lot of men have joined the group as well.

What can you do?

I really like the spirit with which people are celebrating “Independece day” and “Republic day” and apprciate the gatherings.

But the thing I hate is the after celebration part. I see those flags lying in garbage and people stamp it on the roads when they are walking..

Is all that you have in your heart only for that one day ? and people who celebrate have to take care of disposing the flag in a proper way.

I wonder how many people actually know how to dispose the national flag???

Well the answer is… it has to be disposed with due respect which is a burrial.

Last two years, the two days after republic day or independence day went in picking up these flags from the road and disposing them.

 I request everyone to create awareness in this regard in your respective localities so that we will maintain the pride and prestige of the flag and not let it ruin in the rags…

Now coming to the second point.. 

I see these plastic flags all over the place… Can we please please please get rid of thoses?? paper flags are much better .. arnt they ?? 

Well now that we are talking about Environment.. NDTV is doing the “Greenathon”   on 7th and 8th of Feb.. Please join hands and do your best to get the best outcome

Hate that they have the freedom which they misuse and everyone is ok with it.

Hate that they can live their lives on their own terms and never have to depend on anyone to take a decision.

Hate that they have been given the power over women to abuse, torture, use and kill them.

Hate that they do not tihnk before they act.

Hate their guts that they can get away with any any kind of [cheap] things they do in life and expect you to accept it.

I do not understand how can they be so rude and emotionless.

They are the weaker ones if you ask me. They are the ones who are scared of a commitment, responsibilites.

Hate when they CRY about losing the freeedon which women never ever had.

Its the woman who manages everything inside a family and we still call it that a man runs a family or the head of the family. I do not know when will things change or if they will ever change.

It disturbs me a lot that MEN around me, sometimes the ones who are very good friends behave so insanely that you feel like killing the entire breed. 

GOD, I pray for every soul which was hit by this curel “MAN” kind. Please do not let any other MAN behave like an animal that, we will stop trusting any one of those. Please do not let any another woman go through hell when she dersves to be treated well. Please lord, fill love and not hatred in a MAN.  Let there be peace in the hearts that are facing this cruelity. Amen.

I dont remeber when I was so excited about tuning into Live TV eager to hear what the new President will speak.  But then I wasnt dissapointed.

The way he spoke about Equality was so damn inspiring. He was talking about the people who got america to this place and thanked Bush for his contributions and also that there is no looking back now, I saw America change in his speech am pretty sure he is gonna go great guns.

Thats when it stuck me, when did we ever have a leader who is so inpiring who sounds so true and means what he actually says. The answer I got was neva…They say it right, we can never get into the developed mode untill we get leaders who have the vision to get us to that level. You might ask that the change has to come from with in and not depend on the leader or the govnt. But that needs inspiration, in the time behind us the leaders came out because there was a major suffering in their lives which effected everything and everyone around them.

But its not the same now, common man has got into that comfort zone where we all are happy as long it we are getting what we want and at times when we crib about the govnt and forget it after a while get used to it as we get our basic needs addressed and we pretty happy with it.

The change definately has to come with in and am more than eager to see that. And what I’m doing to get that change? You will soon see.. on www.letsbethechange.org

Drumroll Please

The Winner of the Staples Youth Social Entrepreneur Competition conducted by The Change Makers is none other than the MAD group.

The competition aims to identify and support innovative ways young people are making life easier for others.

The Winning  criteria was ……

• Innovation: This is the knock-out test; the idea or project must introduce creative elements or methods to positively impact the community in order for judges to give it a high ranking. For example, the project might use a new approach to tackle a challenge, creative methods to raise awareness of a problem, or innovative strategies to raise funds or engage volunteers.
• Social Impact: It is important that the idea or project has or will have significant impact on the issues it addresses. Some innovations will have proven success at a small level (or are still at the very beginning), while others will have scaled to engage hundreds or thousands of people. Judges will take into consideration how you plan to grow, replicate, and reach big goals.
• Sustainability: For a project to be truly effective it must have a plan for how it will acquire financial and other bases of support for the long-term. In other words it has a good strategy for creating ongoing positive change in the community and engaging partners, as well as a sound plan for transitioning leadership and recruiting team members or volunteers.

The Assessment Criteria was tough but the MAD group made it through.

I’m really proud of these guys. I didn’t get to work very closely with this group but they are a bunch of people who really care for the society around and will definitely bring in the change they want to see in the world around us.

MAD – Make A Difference

What is it ? :

An Organization of young people working amongst orphans and other underprivileged kids to provide them with quality education so that one day it shall empower them to stand on their own feet and when the times comes fly away. They try not to grill into their heads the tedious school syllabus but instead prepare them face life better by improving their communication skills, computer skills and their overall personality.

You care to join ?

Just Two hours a week

You can do sooooo much with us in just two hours. Be a teacher to these underprivileged kids, spend some time with them and just see what wonderful joy you bring into their lives. And all it takes is two hours a week. Would that be too much to ask??

Be a Journalist

Our journalists represent the free voice of the youth. We have no political affiliations, no religious influences or any other biases. All that motivates and guides us is the goal of social justice. Here our journalists write about the various problems faced by the youth or by the world as a whole, from the youth’s point of view.

Start a cell in your college

Be the leader and start a MAD cell in your college…You will have the autonomy to plan and coordinate your own activities and also receive our help. Your chance to do lead your college

Be a trainer

Do you have a passion for teaching? Are you employed or constrained by time but still feel you have so much experience you could share with us. We’ve something just for you. You could help us train our volunteers.

If you are on ORKUT you can check the Cochin MAD, Pune MAD and Chennai MAD. The Hyderabad MAD should be up pretty soon. I heard they are hiring
